Ivan Santini
Ivan Santini ( born May 21, 1989 in Zadar, Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian football player. From 2012 to 2013 he played on loan at the Bundesliga club SC Freiburg.
Career
Youth
Santini began his active career as a football player in his hometown, where he grew up also in the young field of NK Zadar. There he went through almost all youth teams in 2006 and moved to the youth department of the NK Inter Zaprešić from just 17 kilometers west of the capital Zagreb town Zaprešić. There he stood until the end of the year in the squad of youth and also coached several times with the first team of the club, which has its gaming operations in the first HNL, the top division in Croatian football, with.
In early January 2007 Santini came in the youth department of the Austrian club FC Red Bull Salzburg, where he also attended the Academy among others. In the following year and a half, he played 17 league games for the Academy team in the U-19 Youth League, scoring seven goals.
Club career
In July 2008, Santini left the Salzburg Academy and was until February 2009 without a club. In mid-February, he completed a trial with German second division side FC Ingolstadt 04 On February 20, Santini's move to Germany was confirmed. Before that, the young Croatian graduated in December 2008 a test match at the Belgian club Standard Liege, but could not convince there.
His professional debut for the club Ingolstadt he gave on March 8, 2009, the 2:3 away defeat against TSV 1860 Munich, when he came on in the 72nd minute for Valdet Rama.
It is noteworthy that Santini played during his brief association membership of nearly four months at FC Ingolstadt under three different coaches in professional team. In August 2009 he signed a contract with the Croatian first division side NK Zadar. After 26 goals in 64 league appearances for Zadar Santini moved in late January 2012 to Germany again. The relegation-threatened Bundesliga side SC Freiburg borrowed from Santini for half a year and also has a purchase option.
On 5 February 2012, he was under coach Christian Streich in the match against Werder Bremen made his debut for the SC, when he came on in the 62.Spielminute for Jan Rosenthal.
