Ivan Å traus

Ivan Štraus (* June 24, 1928 ) is a Bosnian architect of Slovenian descent. He is one of the main architects of Yugoslavia in the period after the Second World War.

Štraus began in 1947 to study architecture in Zagreb and graduated in 1958 at the Technical University of Sarajevo from. Then worked at the Technical University of Sarajevo as an assistant. 1959-1961 and again 1965-1984, he worked for the magazine " Arhitekt ". In the 1980s he became a member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Štraus built at home and abroad. Among the well-known buildings the hotel "Holiday Inn " (1983), the UNIS Towers ( 1986), the office building of ' Electric Power BiH ' ( 1978) and in Belgrade Aviation Museum at the airport include in Sarajevo.
