Ivana Loudová

Ivana Loudová ( born March 8, 1941 in Chlumec nad Cidlinou in Moravia ) is a Czech composer.

Life

Loudová got from the eighth violin lessons. She studied from 1958 to 1961 at the Prague Conservatory with Miloslav Kabeláč and then at the Academy of Music with Emil Hlobil. She continued her studies with Olivier Messiaen and André Jolivet at the Conservatoire de Paris with Pierre Schaeffer at the Centre Bourdan for experimental music of the ORTF continued.

Since 1972 she works as a freelance composer. Since 1992 she has taught at the Academy of Arts in Prague, where she is Professor of Composition since 2006. She composed more than one hundred works that have won many awards at music festivals. In 1993 she was awarded the Prize of the City of Heidelberg for her work as a composer.
