Iveco Powerstar

The Iveco Powerstar is a Langhauber truck is produced in Australia and Brazil. The first generation was based on the Iveco Eurotech. The current generation is based on the Iveco Stralis. In Europe, the model as Iveco stator is available.

Power Star I 1999-2009

The PowerStar was designed based on the Iveco Eurotech and received both European and American engines. Thus came the Power Star in addition to the European Iveco engines, the Detroit Diesel Series 60, Cummins Engine ISM, ISX and Caterpillar C12 and C15 are used. As the transmission Iveco ZF Euro Tronic, Eaton Corporation Road Ranger and Autoshift were used. The PowerStar was cheaper than the competitors available in Australia and South America from the U.S.. Just as this could be achieved with the Power Star as a Road Train a total weight of up to 120 tons. The Power Star I was assembled between 1999 and 2005 in Argentina for the South American market.

Iveco Powerstar ISX II version since 2009

The new version of Power Star was based on the Iveco Stralis. In his introduction, he won the " Truck of the Year 2010 Australia". Available with engines 485-525 and 550 hp, it has a tank with 2000 liters in series to provide a range to cross the desert from Melbourne to Darwin and the way between Sydney and Perth, 4000 km long. First North American powertrains were not available but only the Iveco Cursor engines with the Euro Tronic II gearbox. The current model is mounted way since 2011 in CKD kit in Brazil for the South American market. Also planned is the construction and distribution in North America.
