Ivelin Popov

Iwelin Ivanov Popov (also spelled Ivelin Ivanov Popov, Bulgarian Ивелин Иванов Попов; born October 26, 1987 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian football player.

Career

Association

In his youth, Popov was trained at the club FC Septemvri Sofia. In 2004, he to Levski Sofia and a year later he was active in the youth team of Feyenoord Rotterdam before then until 2010 played for five years with Litex Lovech. From 2010 to 2012, he was for two years in the service of the Turkish first division side Gaziantepspor.

For the season 2012/13 he moved to FC Kuban Krasnodar. As part of the widening of the squad after winning the Champions League, to be a strong interest in the obligation of Popov for the season 2013/14 the German record champion Bayern Munich, which helped the young Bulgarian national team in Germany to a media echo.

National

Since 2007, Popov also played 40 times for the Bulgarian national football team, scoring nine goals.
