Ivete Sangalo

Ivete Maria Dias de Sangalo ( born May 27, 1972 in Juazeiro, Bahia), Ivete Sangalo known as, is a Brazilian axé singer and composer. She arrived as a singer of the band Banda Eva great popularity in Brazil. In her time at Banda Eva, the band sold nearly 4 million CDs. 1999 Sangalo left the band and has since been active as a solo artist.

Life

Already in the school began Sangalo to play guitar and sing. After the death of her father and her brother Sangalo moved at age 16 to Salvador da Bahia, where she worked as a model and saleswoman. A year later she began singing in small bars and clubs. After they had worked on several shows and concerts, she was discovered in Morro do Chapéu of the producer Jonga Cunha. From then on she was the singer of Banda Eva. In 1992 she won the music prize in Salvador Dorival Caymmi Troféu. Having released six CDs with Banda Eva, she began her solo career in 1999.
