Ivo Yanakiev

Iwo Dimitrov Jana Kiev ( Bulgarian Иво Димитров Янакиев, English also written Ivo Yanakiev, born October 12, 1975 in Burgas ) is a former Bulgarian rower, who was third in the 2004 Olympic one.

Jana Kiev in 1992 was fifth and sixth in the 1993 World Junior Championships in One. In 1994 he took up at World Rowing Championships in adult category. In 1999, he reached for the first time the A-final and finished in fifth place, which he also qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games. He also finished fifth.

In 2001 he finished the World Cup in Seville in second place behind the Slovenes Iztok Čop and reached for the first time in his career podium; at the World Rowing Championships 2001, he came in sixth place. In 2002 he occupied at the World Championships in tenth place, 2003, he was twelfth. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 he reached the A-final again and won the bronze medal behind Norwegian Olaf Tufte and the Estonians Jüri Jaanson.

2005 moved Iwo Jana Kiev in the double sculls and finished in this boat class at the World Rowing Championships with his brother Martin Jana Kiev fourth place, followed in 2006 a fifth place. At the end of his career Iwo reached a tenth place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with his brother.

Dimitar Jana Kiev, the father of Iwo and Martin, was from 1972 to 1980 at the Olympic Games here in 1980 and sixth with the Bulgarian eighth.
