Ivy Quainoo

Ivy Quainoo (born 25 August 1992 in Berlin ) is a German pop singer of Ghanaian descent. In February 2012, she won the first season of the singing talent show The Voice of Germany.

Private life

Ivy Quainoo was born in Berlin -Neukölln, the daughter of a Ghanaian, who left the family before she was born, and a Ghanaian. She grew up with her older sister up with their mother in Neukölln. Until the seventh grade Quainoo attended a Neuköllner school, then switched to the Schiller High School in Berlin- Charlottenburg, where they 2011 her Abitur. Towards the end of their schooling Quainoo visited two years, the performing arts school in Berlin- Kreuzberg.

Career

The Voice of Germany

After graduation Quainoo be applied to the German singing talent show The Voice of Germany. There, she opted for the group that was coached by Sascha Vollmer and Alec Voelkel, the two frontmen of the band The BossHoss. In the live shows of the consignment Quainoo was further selected as the only participant of the television program every time by the audience. In the final show on 10 February 2012, she received 33.65% of the combined voices from telephone voting and number of song downloads, so she let the other three final candidates behind.

2012: Ivy

A few weeks after the final Ivy Quainoo occurred among others in the TV shows Harald Schmidt Show and understanding of fun to present their single Do You Like What You See. On 2 March 2012 she released her first album Ivy. Following the publication Quainoo was on radio tour and appeared in the music show The Dome. On March 22, she was at the Echo Awards 2012 guest and sang with Aura Dione, Ina Müller, Caro Emerald and Dionne Bromfield in honor of Amy Winehouse song Valerie.

When ProSieben Celebrity Boxing presented Quainoo before her new single You Got Me. This introduced her to, inter alia, in the Duftstars Awards and Sat1 breakfast television, where she had already sung their previous single. The accompanying music video was filmed in Copenhagen and published on May 18 Quainoo launched her first tour in Germany on May 14 in Lüneburg.

On June 7, 2012 Quainoo occurred at the finale of Germany's Next Topmodel, and sang her single Breakaway. This led to a high increase in sales of her album. In Wolf Hagen on June 8 ended their tour. On July 15, 2012, she appeared on the Bluetone festival in Straubing.

For the comedy man what man can do Quainoo published on 11 October 2012, title song " Men Do What They Can" at the same time the theatrical release. With Stanfour For World Without End Miniseries she took on the song Who You Are. On November 16, 2012 published Quainoo their album Ivy as " Deluxe Gold Edition". In the second live show of the second season of The Voice of Germany on 23 November 2012, she submitted her song Who You Are.

On March 21, 2013 Quainoo won the echo in the category of Best Female Pop / Rock National.

Since 2013: Wildfires

On September 6, 2013 Quainoos appeared first single Wildfires (Light it Up ) from her second album. In the TV show Schlag den Raab Quainoo presented this single a day later. The eponymous album Wildfires appeared on 27 September 2013. This introduced her to, among others, on the television program Celebrity Big Brother and the award ceremony of the Golden hen. In October 2013 Quainoo Olly Murs acted as special guest on his tour in Germany and received within the 7 Radio Charity Night to Music Award in the category "Newcomer National 2013 ".

On November 29, 2013, it released its second single Atomic, they also sang to kick off the live shows to the third season of The Voice of Germany on the same day.

Others

For the organization I want Europe and the automobile manufacturer Volkswagen turned Ivy Quainoo commercials. Since February 2013, it is the new ambassador for the school campaign Together for Africa. In July 2013 Quainoo ran at Berlin Fashion Week for Rebekka Ruetz on the catwalk.
