Iwan Rheon

Iwan Rheon (born 13 May 1985 in Carmarthen, Wales ) is a British actor and musician.

Childhood and youth

Iwan Rheon was born in May 1985 in the capital of the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire and moved with his parents, and Rheon Tomos Einir and his older brother Aled, at the age of five years in the Welsh capital, Cardiff. Before Rheon began with 17 years of acting, he attended the secondary boys and girls school Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf. After he was discovered during the cultural festival Eisteddfod in Wales, Rheon began at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to study.

Career

At the age of 17 years Rheon got the role of Macsen White in the Welsh soap Pobol Y Cwm, which he later resigned, however, to study at LAMDA. This was followed by his first notable role in the play Eight Miles High, which was staged in 2008 at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool.

End of 2008, Rheon was cast for the role of Moritz Stiefel in the rock musical Spring Awakening. For this role he played in May 2009 from 9 January 2009 to the premature end of the piece, Rheon was nominated for a What's On Stage Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical. 2010 got Rheon Price Best Supporting Actor in a Musical at the Olivier Awards.

After the end of Spring Awakening, he became in 2009 a member of the main casts of the series Misfits on E4 channel. The series is about five criminal youths who were sentenced to community service and after a thunderstorm all have super powers. Rheon has the role of Simon Bellamy, who impresses at the beginning by his nervousness and shyness, but goes through a great development in the series, according Rheon. In 2011 he was nominated for this role in the category of Drama Series as an outstanding actor for the Golden Nymph. On December 20, 2011 Rheon has announce via the messaging service Twitter that he and his colleague Antonia Thomas Misfits series will leave after the end of the third season.

In addition to two guest appearances on the comedy series Grandma's House in 2011, Rheon also played in the final episode of the series Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

In early 2012 began Rheon along with Luke and Matthew Lewis Treadeaway the shooting of the film Waste Land. A few months later, the film Libertador followed with Edgar Ramirez, in which he will play the role of Daniel O'Leary. 2012 was also announced that he has signed for David Leon's film Driven, like the Libertador is to appear in 2013.

Last Rheon was cast in the HBO series Game of Thrones as Ramsay Snow, and for the sitcom Vicious with Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi.

Music

According to his own statements Rheon writes the lyrics since he was 15 and so it came about that he was lead singer of the band The Convictions, which he later left to pursue his acting career. In 2010 he recorded his first solo CD, which is titled Tongue Tied, on about the RAK studios in London. Produced the CD by Kevin Bacon and Jonathan Quarmby and finally released digitally in May 2011. His second CD Changing Times was produced in this way and published on 10 October 2011. During a OnAir Radio concert in February 2012 Rheon announced that he currently working on an album. This is expected to Bang! Bang! hot.
