Ixodiphagus hookeri
The wasp lays its eggs in Ixodiphagus hookeri ticks. The wasp seems to use a symbiotic virus to weaken the immune system of the tick.
There are ( Ixodes ricinus, for example ) and Rhipicephalus ticks infected from the genera Amblyomma, Dermacentor, Haemaphysalis, Hyalomma, Ixodes.
Since I. hookeri is a natural enemy of ticks, the species was extensively researched.
Dissemination
I. hookeri occurs worldwide (except Antarctica ).
