Iyengar yoga is a form of yoga that was developed by BKS Iyengar, born in 1918. Throughout his decades- long practice practice he explored every single yoga pose ( asana ) with respect to the correct orientation and effect. The experiences that he made with his own body, Iyengar led them to use tools or to develop new, so -called " Props " as non-slip mats, straps, blocks, bolsters, back benches. The asana practice is adopted together with the necessary philosophical and anatomical knowledge in a 3- year training as Iyengar yoga teacher.
