Izzy Stradlin

Izzy Stradlin ( born April 8, 1962 as Jeffrey Isbell ) is an American musician.

He grew up in Lafayette, Indiana. He is a founding member and former guitarist of Guns N ' Roses.

Shortly after his high school graduation he moved to Los Angeles, where he soon joined a band called The Naughty Women, at that time as a drummer. Later, he left these and went with some other bands. At this time he traded his drums first against the bass, and then rose to guitar around - the games he taught himself. With his old high school friend, Axl Rose, he founded Hollywood Rose. Eventually disintegrated by Hollywood Rose; Izzy Stradlin went to a band called London and Axl Rose got in at the LA Guns. Later Hollywood Rose were revived. In March 1985, saw the establishment of Guns N ' Roses, a merger of Hollywood Rose and LA Guns, hence the name Guns N' Roses. Izzy Stradlin was there not only rhythm guitarist, but also crucially involved in the songwriting.

On November 7, 1991, he left Guns N 'Roses, among others because of differences over the Use Your Illusion tour - Izzy had allegedly not feel like going to concerts in huge arenas. However, he was released in 1993 for five concerts back to the stage, as his successor Gilby Clarke had his hand broken. Was followed by several solo albums, which among other things, Duff McKagan (ex - Guns N 'Roses, now bassist for Velvet Revolver ) and Rick Richards (The Georgia Satellites ) participated.

2002 Stradlin was also planned as a guitarist in the formation of Velvet Revolver, but he got there in the same year again.

When Guns N ' Roses tour in 2006 and 2012, however, followed again a few guest appearances, including in Austria at the Nova Rock 2006 or in Mallorca in 2012.
