J Records

J Records was one belonging to the Sony Music record label. It was founded in August 2000 under the BMG label by Clive Davis, with BMG in 2005 due to the merger to SonyBMG had only 50% of the shares. In 2001, with Alicia Keys was the first solo artist of the label under contract. This was followed by artists such as Luther Vandross, Rod Stewart and Leona Lewis. In 2008, Sony's fusion was revised with BMG and Sony took over the label initially in July 2011 under the auspices of the RCA Music Group, a label founded in 2004, which took them under contract, among other performers of the previous label Jive and Arista Records. In October 2011, the full integration with RCA Records, a belonging to Sony Music, after which all artists of J Records was a new contract with RCA received.
