J. Carson Mark

J. Carson Mark ( born July 6, 1913 in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada; † 2 March 1997) was an American mathematician and physicist of Canadian descent.

Mark studied mathematics and graduated in Toronto 1935. Upon his graduation, he taught mathematics at the University of Manitoba and worked at the Montreal Laboratory of the Canadian Research Council. He worked in 1945 as a weapons designer for the Manhattan Project and remained even after the war at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He led from 1947 until his retirement in 1973, the Department for Theoretical Physics (T division ) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. In the 1950s he participated in the US- American citizenship.
