J. Henry Fair

J. Henry Fair (* in Charleston ) is a photographer, environmental activist and co-founder and director of the environmental organization Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, NY. Fair now lives and works in New York.

Industrial Scars

Fair became known above all for his photographic series Industrial Scars. For this project, the artist sets apart with energy, agricultural mass production and large-scale industrial production. With small aircraft circling over hard to reach industrial areas and photographed factories, sewage plants or coal mining areas from a bird's perspective. The central themes of his work are the visualization of the elusive processes of global warming, environmental pollution and destruction and the position which takes the art in this context.

With his photos Fair has drawn attention to environmental problems in different regions of the world. In Germany, the lignite mining areas in North Rhine -Westphalia and in the Lausitz region belong to which he took pictures in recent years. Photos from the Industrial Scars series have been exhibited in the U.S., Asia and Europe. The abstract images is fair concrete information on the documented environmental problems attached. Visitors to its exhibitions are informed so on acute issues of environmental protection, such as chemical reactions in fertilizer production or the consequences of factory farming. The largest single exhibition of the photographer - Dead Earth beautiful appearance - was shown in autumn 2011 by the COMM education in Nuremberg. Fair working as a photographer with environmental organizations like NRDC, Rainforest Alliance or Greenpeace together.

Wolf Conservation Center

J. Henry Fair is co-founder and director of the environmental organization Conservation Wolf Center (WCC ) in South Salem, NY. The WCC is committed to the protection of wild wolves and informed about the lives of these animals, their role in the ecosystem and the role of humans in securing their future. The center conducts regular briefings on the subject of wolves, supports the reintroduction of animals into suitable, designated by the states and territories also provides protected habitat for some of the wolves available to observe their natural behavior. WCC is the largest facility in the Eastern United States, which is engaged in the breeding and reintroduction of endangered wolves.

Fair is in the music and art scene, also known as a portrait photographer. He portrayed among others artists such as Yo- Yo Ma, Isaac Stern or Cecilia Bartoli.
