J. P. Dutta
Jyoti Prakash Dutta (known as JP Dutta; born October 3, 1949 in Bombay, Maharashtra ) is an Indian film director and producer of Bollywood film industry.
Dutta produces his films under his own film production company JP Films. Among his most important films include the Border, Refugee and Umrao Jaan. For Border, he received a Filmfare Award for Best Director and Nargis Dutt Award. He is a member of the advisory board for the International Indian Film Academy Awards.
JP Dutta is the son of film director and screenwriter OP Dutta, with whom he collaborates. He is married to actress Bindiya Goswami and has two daughters, nidi and Siddhi.
