Jaak Lipso

Jaak Lipso ( born April 18, 1940 in Tallinn, Estonia) is a former Soviet basketball player and coach of Estonian origin. He was 1964 and 1968 Olympic medalist.

Sports Performance

Jaak Lipso began his athletic career in 1956. Between 1961 and 1970 he was a member of the national basketball team of the USSR. He won the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 in the Soviet basketball team. At the Olympic Summer Games 1968 in Mexico City, he won the bronze medal with his team.

1967 Lipso World Champion and 1963, 1965 and 1967 European champion. With his team PBK CSKA Moscow he was in 1963 and 1969 European champion and six-time Soviet champion ( 1962-1966 and 1969). After his playing career was Lipso basketball coach.
