Jaakko Mäntyjärvi

Jaakko Mäntyjärvi ( born May 27, 1963 in Turku ) is a Finnish composer. He studied musicology, English Philology and Linguistics in the University of Helsinki and is full-time translator. He also studied music theory and choral conducting. He wrote and writes mainly works for choirs.

Musical style and effect

Mäntyjärvis works are often influenced by the tradition as described moderately modern and humorous. Although they are very popular with many choirs and their audiences, reach his works at least in the German speaking no widespread.
