Jablanica District

The district Jablanica ( округ Јабланички, Jablanica okrug ) located in the southeastern part of Serbia. The capital and the main administrative center of the district is Leskovac.

The district has Jablanica, according to the 2002 Census, it has a population of 255 011.

Culture

This district was known by the discovery of a Roman tomb from the 2nd century in Mala Kopasnica. Other attractions in this district are the monasteries with the name Sv. Jovan Krstitelj (English: " St. John the Baptist" ) and Sv. Devica Marija. (English: " Holy Virgin Mary " ) from the 1499 addition, there is also a church from the 16th century, which was also dedicated to Saint John and internationally is one of the most beautiful European monuments.

Economy

The most important industrial operation in this district is the pharmaceutical and chemical industries operating " Zdravlje AD", also there the plastic factory " Pobeda ", " Tomako ", the meat producer " Mesokombinat " Textile Manufacturers " Letex " and cosmetics manufacturer " Nevena " are located.
