Jac Jacobsen

Jac Jacobsen ( * 1901, † 1996) was a Norwegian designer.

Life

After years of work in the textile industry ( 1921-1934 ) traveled Jac Jacobsen Europe. In 1937 he developed the famous lamp Luxo L1 with the scissors arm system, which is now on display in many museums of the world as an example of classic lighting design. Basis was there which was developed by George Carwardine in 1933 for a table lamp from Terry & Sons joint Anglepoise principle, which is based on the dimension and function of the human arm.
