Jacek Dehnel

Jacek Dehnel ( born May 1, 1980 in Gdańsk ) is a Polish writer, translator and painter.

Life

Jacek Stefan Żeromski Dehnel visited the Gymnasium in Oliva and afterwards studied in Warsaw Polish Language and Literature. Since then Dehnel works in Warsaw as a poet, prose writer, translator and painter. With his novel Lala he became known internationally in 2006.

2005 Dehnel received the Kościelski Prize and in 2007 the Paszport Polityki of the Polish weekly magazine Polityka. 2010 His poetry collection Ekran was kontrolny (control screen) for the most important literary award in Poland, nominated the Nike Literary Award.
