Jacek Rostowski

Jacek Rostowski (actually: Jan Vincent Rostowski -; born April 30, 1951 in London) is a Polish economist, since 16 November 2007, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland and since February 25, 2013 Vice Präses of Ministers ( Deputy Prime Minister ). He belongs to the Party of Civic Platform.

Rostowski was born as the son of Polish immigrants in London. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science. From 1988 to 1995 he was a lecturer at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies within the University College London. In 1989 he was appointed by the then Polish Finance Minister Leszek Balcerowicz to his economic advisers. This activity he held until 1991.
