Jack Davis (politician)

Jack Davis ( born September 6, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois ) is a former American politician. Between 1987 and 1989 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jack Davis studied until 1956 at the Southern Illinois University, and then served 1956-1959 in the U.S. Navy. Between 1959 and 1978 he ran a steel goods business. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. From 1976 to 1986 he was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Illinois.

In the congressional elections of 1986, Davis was in the fourth electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the meantime deceased George M. O'Brien on January 3, 1987. Since he has not been confirmed in 1988, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1898.

Between 1990 and 1992, Davis worked as head of the Department of the Air Force. In this time of the Second Gulf War, on the logistical support he was involved fell. Jack Davis also had a radio morning show at the transmitter 970 WMAY in Springfield.
