Jack Dolbin

Dr. John Tice "Jack" Dolbin ( born November 12, 1948 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania) is an American former American football player. He played as a wide receiver, among others, at the Denver Broncos in the National Football League ( NFL).

Playing career

College career

Jack Dolbin attended the high school where he played in the school team as a running back American football in his native city. After leaving school he received an athletic scholarship at Wake Forest University. For the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, he was also as a running back. Dolbin was honored by his college because of his athletic performance three times.

Professional career

Dolbin was after completing his studies committed by any professional football team. He played in 1971, first at a semi-professional football team in Pottstown, before deciding at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois, take up studies to the chiropractor. In 1974 he took part in a trial of the Chicago Fire, who were founded in the year before the World Football League settled. Dolbin convinced and received a professional contract. After a year playing with the team from Chicago, he joined the NFL for the Denver Broncos, where it was used together with Floyd Little and Rick Upchurch as a wide receiver in the offense of the team.

In 1977 succeeded the trained Red Miller team in the regular season twelve of 14 games to win. With this performance, the team from Denver was able to move into the play- offs, where it first came to a clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dolbin could use a pass from quarterback Craig Morton for a touchdown and thus contribute to 34:21 victory of his team in the game. By winning the game Dolbin could move with the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, where you can that could be struck with 20:17 on the Oakland Raiders contract. The following Super Bowl XII against supervised by Tom Landry Dallas Cowboys had to Dolbin, who in the game could catch two passes, beaten with his Broncos with 27:10.

After the Regular Season 1978 succeeded Dolbin with the Broncos again in the play-offs to feed. After a knee injury he incurred at the start of the 1979 season, Jack Dolbin had to end his career.

After the career

Jack Dolbin finished his training as a chiropractor and returned in 1984 to his native city and opened there as a chiropractor the Pottsville Sports and Rehabilitation Center. Since 1996 he serves as second vice president of Penn State University. In 1982 he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Dolbin is married and has four children.
