Jack H. McDonald

Jack H. McDonald ( born June 28, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American politician. Between 1967 and 1973 he represented the state of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jack McDonald attended the common schools and studied at Wayne State University after that. In 1960, he headed the Federal Census Bureau in Wayne County. In the years 1961, 1963 and 1964 McDonald was elected mayor in Redford Township to. In 1965, he was district administrator in Wayne County. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. In 1967 he was one of the working group on the planning of urban development.

In the congressional elections of 1966, McDonald was in the 19th electoral district of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrats Billie S. Farnum on January 3, 1967. After two re- election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1973 three legislative periods. These were shaped by the events of the Vietnam War. In 1972, he lost in the primaries of his party against William Broomfield, who became his successor in Congress on January 3, 1973. After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives Jack McDonald worked as a consultant and lobbyist.
