Jack Hawkins

John Edward Hawkins ( born 14 September 1910 in Wood Green, London, † 18 July 1973 in London ) was a British actor.

Life

At the age of 12 years, Hawkins made ​​his acting debut in a Christmas play in London. At 18, he appeared in the play Journeys End Broadway. Although he had already been frequently seen in the 1930s in the film, his career took until after the end of World War II, in which he took part as a soldier in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, ride on.
