Jack Laviolette

Jean -Baptiste "Jack" Laviolette ( born July 27, 1879 in Belleville, Ontario, † January 10, 1960 in Montreal, Quebec ) was a professional Canadian ice hockey player in his playing days in 1902 to 1918 among others for the Montreal Canadiens the National Hockey League has played.

Career

Jack Laviolette started his career as a hockey player with the amateur teams Montreal Bell Telephone, Montreal Nationals, Michigan Soo Indians and Montreal Shamrocks, before he was in 1909 taken from the newly established Montreal Canadiens under contract, in the 1909/10 season his debut for which he in professional hockey league National Hockey Association issued. The Canadiens won the defender in the season 1915/16 for the first and only time in his career the prestigious Stanley Cup. For Montréal, he ran on in the season 1917/18, in the first season of the National Hockey League, in a total of 20 games in which he scored three points scorer, including two goals. Due to his achievements Laviolette was added to Canada 's Sports Hall of Fame, and in 1962 in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1960.
