Jack Lisowski

Jack Lisowski ( born June 25, 1991, Cheltenham ) is an English snooker player.

Career

Lisowski, who was traded early as auspicious snooker talent, in 2007 was the final of the Junior Pot Black Cup. However, after finishing school, he suffered a setback when with him at age 16 was diagnosed with cancer. There followed an eight-month chemotherapy.

He then fought his way back to the snooker table. In the 2008 /09 season he reached for the first time the finals of a tournament DIOS and he was in the semifinals of the U-19 European Championship. Also when ranking the first in the English Junior Tour he got the Paul Hunter Scholarship, a junior scholarship that allowed him to train with professional players.

The following season he won the season-opening Tournament of DIOS series and with two other semi-finals and a victory in the final eighth tournament he collected as many ranking points in a season like no player before him. For this he won in 2010 even the English Amateur Championship.

As DIOS - Tour winner to Lisowski qualified tour for the Snooker Main. His first major success as a professional snooker he celebrated the third tournament of the Players Tour Championship in Sheffield in early August 2010, when he defeated, among others, Mark Selby and reached the final, where he lost to Tom Ford.

In qualifying for the UK Championship in 2012 he be so far only succeeded maximum break at a tournament the main tour.
