Jack McGrath (racing driver)

John James "Jack" McGrath ( born October 8, 1919 in Los Angeles, California, USA;. † November 6, 1955 in Phoenix, Arizona, United States) was an American race car driver.

Jack McGrath won in 1946, the first California Roadster Association championship, a track roadster Championship. Eight times McGrath was at the 500 - mile race at Indianapolis at the start. He achieved two podium finishes in 1951 and 1954 when he finished third, respectively. In 1954 he also started from the pole position on the grid.

Since the 500 - mile race from 1950 to 1960 belonged to the Formula 1 World Championship stand at McGrath six race participations in the statistics. He scored a total of nine world championship points.

McGrath had an accident in the final race of the 1955 season in Phoenix fatal.
