Jack McKenzie (ice hockey)

Jack McKenzie ( born July 22, 1930 in High River, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player.

Career

Jack McKenzie began his career as a hockey player with the Brandon Wheat Kings, for which he was active from 1947 to 1949 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He then moved to the Toronto Marlboros, for their youth team, he played first, before the aufrückte during season 1949/50, in the cadre of seniors team of Marlboros, with whom he went straight to Allan Cup, the Canadian amateur championship titles won. After another season in the seniors team the Toronto Marlboros, he played from 1951 to 1957 for the Kitchener- Waterloo Dutchmen, with whom he also won the 1953 and 1955 Allan Cup. He also represented Canada with the Dutchmen at the Olympic Winter Games 1956. During the season 1957/58 he played for both the Dutchmen and the Whitby Dunlops, where he represented the latter in 1958 with Canada at the World Championships. In the season 1958/59 he was playing exclusively for Kitchener -Waterloo. After his hockey career, he taught as a teacher at the high school in the subjects of English, mathematics and sports.

Internationally

For Canada, McKenzie took part in the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, where he won the bronze medal with his team. At the World Championships 1958 he won the gold medal with Canada.
