Jack Norworth

Jack Norworth ( born January 5, 1879 in Philadelphia, † September 1, 1959 in Laguna Beach, California ) was an American lyricist, composer and producer.

He was married to Nora Bayes, from which he left in 1913 divorced. Norworth provided, inter alia, Ziegfeld Follies of texts for the Ziegfeld Follies of 1908 and the 1931. Known was his baseball anthem Take Me Out to the Ball Game from 1908, which he wrote during a subway ride and within a very short time became a hit. 1927 came out a revised version, nowadays you can the song as a picture book buy ( eg, ISBN 0689824335 ).
