Jack van Bebber

Jack Francis van Bebber ( born July 27, 1907 in Perry, Noble County, Oklahoma, † April 13, 1986 ) was an American wrestler.

Career

Jack van Bebber learned the rings, like almost all American top wrestlers of his time in high school and college. He studied and wrestled at Oklahoma State University. From 1929 to 1931, he was unbeaten in all competitions in the light and welterweight class. During these years he also won the U.S. college championship ( NCAA Championships ). At the U.S. Olympic Ausscheidugnskämpfen he surprisingly lost in the first round a fight, but was still the winner excretion. At the games in 1932 in Los Angeles, he became Olympic champion.

During the Second World War was Jack van Bebber as an infantryman four years in operation, including three years on the Pacific front. After the war he was for 39 years employed by the Phillips Petroleum Company until he retired and worked as a talent scout.
