Career

Jackie Moore is already recorded in the late 1960s for the label Shout and wall singles, although they were hardly commercially successful. Only a change to Atlantic brought the desired first hit: Precious, Precious reached in 1970, although only a place 30 in the American charts, but was certified gold. In the R & B Charts by Billboard Moore was thus in the top 15th From then on she gained the reputation of an " expressive R & B singer " (Taurus Press), the " liked by warm soul ballads " before all things. Other recordings published until 1973 at Atlantic, including Moore's first LP Sweet Charlie Babe with the same Southern Soul hit. It was followed by a collaboration with the label Kayvette which allowed a further R & B success with make me Feel Like a Woman (1975).

A year later, Moore was one of the countless soul stars who tried their luck with Disco Music: The Single Disco Body ( Shake It to the East, shake it to the West ) missed the charts. It was not until 1979, after a move to Columbia, Moore celebrated a big hit in the U.S. Disco Charts: This Time Baby placed at the top. Great Britain also took note of the single ( No. 49 ). This success Moore was not able, however, it remained the disco genre in the 1980s faithful. However, they often changed the record company. Smaller successes you get even with Helpless and How's Your Life Baby ( both 1980).
