Jackie Silva

Jacqueline Louise Cruz Silva ( born February 13, 1962 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player, world champion and Olympic champion.

Career

With the Brazilian team Jackie Silva took over as Hall volleyball player at the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984 in Los Angeles, and each reached the seventh place. From 1986, she focused on beach volleyball and won with Rita Buck - Crockett, an unofficial world championship. In the following years, Jackie Silva earned with various partners 41 WPVA and five AVP victories. In 1992, she was voted best setter of WPVA and 1994 she was the MVP of the Association of Volleyball Professionals.

1994 Jackie Silva won with their new partner Sandra Pires in three AVP tournaments. From 1995 to 1997, the two Brazilians won 29 FIVB tournaments twelve, were six times Second, occupied ten events in third place and received only once no medal, but reached at least the semifinals. In the years 1995 and 1996, the two South Americans were also FIVB Tour Champion. Highlights of her career were the common Olympic victory in Atlanta in 1996 and a year later the World Champion title in Los Angeles.

2006 Jackie Silva was included in the "Volleyball Hall of Fame".
