Jackline Maranga

Jackline Maranga ( Jackline Maranga Bonareri; born December 16, 1977 in Nyanturago, Kisii Central District, Nyanza Province) is a Kenyan middle and long distance runner.

Even as a 14 -year-old, she won a silver medal in the 1500 meter race at the IAAF World Junior Championships in 1992. In 1994 silver over 800 meters and silver again in 1996 over 1500 m.

In 1997 she married her fellow runners Tom Nyariki. In the Course de l' Escalade, the couple celebrated a double victory.

In 1998, she was fifth on the long haul at the World Cross Country Championships and won the team gold. In the same year she won each more than 1500 m at the IAAF Championships in Dakar and Africa at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.

In the following season, it was World Cross Country Champion on the short distance, won the bronze medal over 1500 m at the Pan-African Games and was about the same distance Eleventh at the World Athletics Championships in Seville.

After a maternity leave, she returned in 2002 to the competition scene back, was fourth in the 1500 m Commonwealth Games in Manchester and won at the African Championships in Radès. In 2003, she finished fifth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis and won bronze at the Pan-African Games.

In 2005 she was the second time mother of a daughter.
