The Jackson Parish (French: Paroisse de Jackson) is a parish located in the state of Louisiana in the United States. In 2010, the Parish had 16,274 inhabitants and a population density of 11 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Jonesboro.

History

Jackson Parish was formed in 1845 from parts of Claiborne Parish, Ouachita Parish and the Union Parish. It was named after the 7th U.S. President Andrew Jackson.
