Jackson Randy Rhoads

The Randy Rhoads is the first production model of the American electric guitar manufacturer Jackson. It has been available since 1982. The guitarist Randy Rhoads made a first drawing during a roller coaster ride.

The shape of the body is similar to that of the Gibson Flying V, but with asymmetric tapered sides. The instrument has one or two humbuckers, often a Floyd Rose tremolo, and usually 22 or 24 frets. The top plate is held in the manufacturer- typical design, surcharge is an upward instead of downward version ( English: Reversed headstock ) available.

The model has already been made of various types of wood. Both the neck and on the body often comes alder or maple wood used. There were and are both models with continuous and with screw neck and numerous special models with a variety of effect finishes, some with active pickups and electronic circuits. Fully customized single pieces or small series models are manufactured in the factory Custom Shop.

The Randy Rhoads is still one of the most popular Jackson guitars; their body shape was soon imitated by other manufacturers, such as ESP.
