Jackson Richardson ( born June 14, 1969 in Saint- Pierre, Réunion ) is a retired French handball player. He is a Knight of the French Legion of Honour and World Handball Player of the Year in 1995.

Career

Jackson Richardson was considered a defensive specialist, the front of the defense as a pre- dressed man tried to trap the opponent and passes it to initiate pace counter-attacks. In the regular attack formation he played usually in the right back or on the playmaker position. There he fell on mainly due to its spectacular floor passes.

On April 12, 2009, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen committed the exception handball players because of injuries the -budgetary back player Serhiy Schelmenko and Grzegorz Tkaczyk for the rest of the season. He completed seven Bundesliga matches and scored four goals.

In summer 2011, Richardson took over managerial positions in handball club AS Monaco, who competes in the fifth highest in the French league.

His first cap for France denied Richardson on January 10, 1990 against Algeria, his last international match was on 5 February 2005 against Croatia. Overall, Richardson threw in 417 international matches 775 goals. He thus challenged the world's most handball matches.

Awards and honors

Jackson Richardson was elected in 1995 by the international sports journalist for World Handball Player of the Year. In France he was elected Athlete of the Year and Player of the Century. In addition, he received if his successes and his appearance the title of Knight of the French Legion of Honour. For the election of world handball player of the 20th century, he was fifth.
