Jacky Munaron

Jacques " Jacky " Munaron ( born September 8, 1956 in Namur ) is a retired Belgian football goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach active. Since 2010, he coached the goalkeepers of KAA Gent.

Playing career

Munaron began his career in 1974 at RSC Anderlecht. In his 15 years in Brussels he won 15 titles. He won the Belgian championship four times, four times the Belgian Cup, twice each Belgian and European Supercup, and twice the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1983 he also won the UEFA Cup. In the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1978 Munaron was only substitute, but he was in the final two games of the UEFA Cup in 1983 at the Gate of the Violet. In 1989 he joined the RFC Liege, with this club he could in 1990 recorded his fifth Cup win in Belgium. From 1992-1995 he was with the city rivals Standard Liege under contract, where he put his 1993 sixth time the Belgian Cup in victory. He ended his active career in 1995.

Internationally, he played eight times for Belgium. He participated in the World Cup in Spain in 1982 ( from in the second group stage ), European Football Championship in 1984 in France ( in the group phase) and in the successful World Cup in Mexico in 1986 in part, where Belgium was fourth.

After the active career

After the active career Munaron was goalkeeping coach. From 2004-2007, he oversaw the goalkeeper from RSC Anderlecht. From 2009 he supervised the keeper of the Turkish first division side Trabzonspor and moved from there in 2010 returned to his native country to KAA Gent, where he is active as goalkeeping coach since then.
