Jacob's ladder (nautical)

As Jacob's ladder, a rope ladder is referred to in the maritime field.

Jacob ladders are simply designed knit or Tauleitern in which round bars are inserted between the most vierkardeelige Naturtauwerk and secured by Kreuzbändseln. They are much easier to handle than pilot ladders or gangways and are used for extravehicular activities in port or for the lifeboats.
