Jacob Aagaard

Jacob Aagaard Madsen (born 31 July 1973 in Hørsholm ) is a Danish- Scottish chess master, chess author and publisher.

Life

Aagaard began to be recorded in the second half of the 1990s, success in the chess arena. In 1996, he shared third place ( with Sergei Kalinitschew and Nicolay Legky ) in Budapest, 1997, he shared the first place in Highgate and Rotherham, 1998, he won in Hampstead. 2002, the year in which he became an International Master, he shared first place in Helsingør, in the following year he won the tournament undivided. At the turn of 2003/ 04 Aagaard was the Rilton Cup in Stockholm split third parties ( together with, among others, Viktor Korchnoi, Eric Lobron and Robert Fontaine ), 2004 he won jointly with Thomas Luther and Milan Draško in Arco. In the same year he was, after he had taken up residence in Glasgow, Scottish runner-up. The following year, he became a master of Scotland. From February 2006 to November 2009 Aagaard played for the Scottish Chess Association. 2006 Aagaard was sixth at the Danish Championship and won again in Arco. In 2007, he scored the biggest sporting success of his career when he decided in Great Yarmouth the British championship. In the same year he was awarded the grandmaster title. In 2011 he received the title of FIDE Senior Trainer.

His current Elo rating is 2520 (as of March 2014), in May and July 2010, he reached his highest Elo rating 2542nd

Aagaard has distinguished himself as a prolific author of chess literature since the late 1990s. In 2004 he founded the chess book publisher Quality Chess UK LLP and cables together with John Shaw and Andrew Greet each year about 10 to 20 chess books in the demanding market segment.

Chess team

National

Aagaard took part in three Chess Olympiads, namely 2006 and 2008 for Scotland and 2012 for Denmark. In 2011 he participated with the Danish team at the European Team Championship.

Chess club

In the Danish Skakligaen (until 2004 1st Division) played Aagaard in the 1995/96 season when champions SK K41, in which he also starred in the season 2002 /03, in the 1997/98 season at the Gistrup Skakforening, as Up won the title in the 2000/01 season at Aarhus Skakklub, in the season 2004/ 05 at Helsingør Skakklub, in the 2007/ 08 season and from 2009 to 2012 when Skakklubben Sydøstfyn and in the 2012/13 season at the Brønshøj Skakforening.

In the Swedish Elitserien Aagaard played from 1998 to 2004 when Limhamns SK, in the British Four Nations Chess League in the season 1996/97 at Na Fianna, in the season 1997/98 in Slough and in the 2013/14 season at Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher.
