Jacob ben Reuben (rabbi)

Jacob ben Reuben was a Spanish- Jewish author and rabbi of the 12th century.

Before 1200 he wrote in the south of France or Spain the book milchamot ha -Shem, also milchamot Adonai ( " War God" ), the first anti-Christian polemic on the basis of a thorough knowledge of Christian theology, which is characterized by approaches to rational criticism of dogmas and NT content distinguished, but also by blunt polemical swipes.

The plant is designed as a dialogue between the " confessor " and the "deniers of unity ( of God) " and covered in twelve chapters, among other things, the Trinity, the virgin birth, incarnation, Tora - fulfillment through Jesus allegedly false christological interpretations of Scripture and the value of supporting documents for the pending arrival of the Messiah.
