Jacob Gillig

Jacob Gillig (* 1636 in Utrecht; † around 1688 ibid ) was a Dutch painter mainly of fish still lifes, as well as merchant and prison guards.

Gillig became known for his still lifes, which he usually themed river and sea fish. Later he moved with coequal virtuosity on portraits.

At the age of about 50 years, Jacob Gillig died 1688.
