Jacopo di Mino del Pellicciaio

Jacopo di Mino del Pellicciaio (also spelled Iacopo di Mino del Pellicciàio, * in Siena; † before 1396 ) was an Italian painter who painted in the style of the Sienese school.

Life

He was in the middle of the 14th century in Siena and in the Umbria region. Here he followed in his early years, Simone Martini. His Madonna col bambino, also known as Madonna del cardellino, was built around 1344 and is on display in the church of San Martino in Foro in Sarteano. A Coronation of the Virgin ( Incoronazione della Vergine, built around 1350) of it is located in the Museo Civico di Montepulciano Montepulciano. A document from the year 1362 documented the collaboration with Bartolomeo Bulgarini and Luca di Tommè when working on the Maestà by Duccio di Buoninsegna. Other well-known works are in Siena in the Basilica di San Clemente in Santa Maria dei Servi (Madonna del Belvedere, built around 1363, could also by Taddeo di Bartolo have arisen ) and in the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena ( Crocifissione con San Francesco, Incoronazione di Santa Caterina d' Alessandria e santi and Madonna col bambino an SS Chiara, Giovanni Battista Agostino, Francesco ). 1382 he received payments for work on the facade of the Baptistery of the Duomo of Siena. He was also active in Città della Pieve and Todi.
