Jacopo Zabarella

Jacopo Zabarella (Latin Jacobus Zabarellus; * September 5, 1533 in Padua, † October 15, 1589 ) was an Italian philosopher.

Biography

Zabarella studied philosophy at the University of Padua and received his doctorate in 1553 for Master. 1564, he became professor of logic and philosophy at the University of native, where he remained until his death. Zabarella was a follower of Aristotle, about whom he wrote several comments. Zabarellas main achievements were the logic and methodology. His collected writings on logic "Opera logica " ( 1578) received essays on analytical and synthetic methodology, and in his collected essays on the philosophy of nature, " De rebus naturalibus " (1590), Zabarella developed theories to scientific research and commented on the human senses, the thinking and intelligence.
