Jacque Vaughn

Jacque Vaughn ( born February 11, 1975 in Los Angeles, California ) is a former American professional basketball player and current basketball coach. The point guard played for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. Since the summer of 2012, he is the new head coach of the Orlando Magic.

Career

Jacque Vaughn played at the University of Kansas from 1993 to 1997 College Basketball.

Before Vaughn moved to the San Antonio Spurs in 2006, he played in the NBA for the Utah Jazz (1997 to 2001), the drafteten him in 1997. With the Jazz in 1998 he reached the NBA Finals. His next stops were the Atlanta Hawks (2001/ 02 and 2003/ 04), the Orlando Magic (2002/ 03) and the New Jersey Nets (2004 to 2006).

Up to and including the 2008/09 season he played with the Spurs until he ended his active career. In September 2010, Vaughn returned to the San Antonio Spurs, for whom he worked as an assistant coach until 2012. For the season 2012/2013 Vaughn was offered the new head coach of the Orlando Magic to be. It occurs there in the footsteps of Stan Van Gundy, who had been previously dismissed.

During his active career as a player Jacque Vaughn scored in 776 games this season averaging 4.5 points and 2.5 assists per game.
