Jacqueline Diffring

Jacqueline Diffring ( * 1920 in Koblenz ) is a German -British sculptress. She is the sister of actor Anton Diffring.

Life and work

Diffring studied in 1937 at the Reimann school in Berlin. In 1939 she emigrated because of their Jewish origins to Britain. She received British citizenship and completed in 1946, the art training at the Technical College in Cambridge. Two more years, she studied sculpture at the Chelsea School of Art in London. She studied with Soukop and MacWilliam, her most important teacher was Henry Moore. After completing her training, she studied at London University and taught at the Wisbech High School. She lives and works in France.

Since the 1980s, her works are exhibited in galleries and museums.

Jacqueline Diffring Foundation

In 2007, the artist Jacqueline Diffring Foundation in Berlin, a non-profit Foundation for Art and Culture, the price to young sculptors annually awards. It is aimed at not yet established artists and was first awarded in 2008. The award is endowed with € 5,000.
