Jacques Charland

Jacques Charland ( born July 21, 1930 in Trois- Rivières, Quebec, † October 2013 ) was a Canadian ski jumper.

Charland made ​​his international debut at the Olympic Winter Games 1952 in Oslo. There he finished 25th on the normal hill with jumps of 62.5 and 61 meters. On January 1, 1956, he jumped in Garmisch -Partenkirchen the first time jumping in the Four Hills Tournament and jumped it to 17th place. Six weeks later at the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, he jumped again in competition on the normal hill and reached the 27th place here. At the Four Hills Tournament 1956/57, he did not join in, but stood to the Four Hills Tournament 1957/58 again in the Canadian squad. After a 24th place in Oberstdorf, he jumped in Garmisch again on the 17th Place. In Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, he could not reach top places and just jumped on the seats 47 and 31 to the Four Hills Tournament 1959/60 he was able to increase its performance significantly and jumped after a 20th place in Oberstdorf, Garmisch- Partenkirchen with ninth place for the first time under the best ten. After a 38th place in Innsbruck, he even reached the sixth place in Bischofshofen. At the end, he finished as the 16th place in the Tour overall standings. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, he reached with jumps of 76.5 and 73.5 meters again ranked number 33 in jumping on the normal hill. It was his last international tournament.
