Jacques de Lacretelle

Jacques de Lacretelle ( born June 14, 1888 in Cormatin; † 2 January 1985 in Paris) was a French writer.

Lacretelle wrote novels, short stories, novels and dramas. His novel Silbermann in 1922 was awarded the Prix Femina. The continuation of Silbermann published in 1929 under the title Le retour de Silbermann.

In 1936 he was elected a member of the Académie française. Jacques de Lacretelle had great influence on the development of the French press (Le Figaro, Libération ).
