Jacques Favart

Jacques Favart ( born July 30, 1920 in Paris, † 27 September 1980) was a French figure skater and sports official.

In a single run was Favart 1936-1939 French vice champion behind Jean Henrion and 1942 French champion eventually.

After the Second World War Favart occurred in pair skating alongside his wife Denise Favart (* 1923) on. From 1946 to 1949, they were French champions. In their only European championship is they finished 1947 in eighth place. The best result in their four World Cup participations was the tenth place they reached in 1947 and 1949. 1948 St. Moritz represented the Favart France at the Olympics and they finished in 14th place.

After his competitive career was Favart 1967-1980 president of the International Skating Union ( ISU) and from 1968 to 1969 and President of the French Skating Federation ( Fédération Française des Sports de Glace ). He died in 1980 shortly after his re-election. He was inducted into the Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1993. According to him, the Jacques Favart Award, the highest award of the ISU named.
